Who We Are

The Glafkos Clerides Institute

Founded in 1999, before Cyprus became a member of the European Union, it aims in promoting European ideals and values as well as the European concept of good governance, the rule of law and democratic process. It promotes democratic dialogue and the proper functioning of a democratic society in the country and the region.

The Institute of Glafkos Clerides is the political think-tank affiliated to the Democratic Rally Party, ruling party of Cyprus, a member of the European People’s Party (EPP) family.

The Institute of Glafcos Clerides is run by its Executive Director, Mr. Michalis Sophocleous, and a 14-member Governing Board chaired by Ms. Kate Clerides.
